Hepatic Splenosis: A Rare Entity and Great Mimicker

Abstract Splenosis is a benign and rare condition that usually caused by trauma or splenectomy other procedures involving splenic tissue. The patient asymptomatic often diagnosed incidentally especially when presents as intrahepatic lesion, can be misdiagnosed neoplasm. Here, we present case report of 56-year-old male patient, who was detected to have focal liver lesion on routine ultrasound check up. He further evaluated with computed tomography (CT) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) the indistinguishable from neoplastic lesions hepatic adenoma. Retrospectively analyzing, had history following road traffic accident 10 years before presentation. Following laparotomy, resected histopathology confirmed diagnosis splenosis. In this review, diagnostic features criteria help in splenosis which great mimicker.
